Food allergies affect millions of children today, and teaching kids about safety, empathy, and inclusion has never been more important. To meet this need, I teamed up with author and food allergy advocate Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino to create a series of beautifully illustrated children’s books on food allergies.
Our goal was simple: to help children with food allergies feel seen, supported, and empowered—while also teaching classmates, families, and schools how to be more compassionate and prepared. What started with one book has grown into a three-book series loved by parents, teachers, doctors, and food allergy organizations.

Book 1: A Lesson for Every Child: Learning About Food Allergies
This first book introduces young readers to Jack, a boy living with food allergies. Through his story, children learn what allergies are, how to stay safe, and how important it is for classmates and teachers to understand them.
Experts and parents alike have praised this book:
  • “This beautifully written and illustrated book teaches awareness that can save lives. Every classroom and library should have a copy.” – Dawn Brainerd
  • “My son was so happy to share this story with his classmates so they could understand his food allergies. It made him feel proud and brave.” – Parent Review
Endorsed by leaders in the allergy community, including Eleanor Garrow-Holding, CEO of FAACT, this book has become a go-to classroom resource for food allergy education.

Book 2: Dream Big with Food Allergies
Having food allergies doesn’t mean a child’s dreams should be limited. In this uplifting story, Melissa learns that with care and courage, she can still do anything she sets her heart on.
Parents have found the message deeply moving:
  • “This book reminded me that my kids and I can still enjoy life fully, even with allergies. We just need to be safe—and we can dream big too!” – Morgan and Emily
This book encourages children to build confidence, overcome fears, and embrace all the possibilities life has to offer—no matter their challenges.

Book 3: Max’s Big Adventure: Traveling with Food Allergies Traveling with food allergies can be stressful, but Max shows young readers that preparation makes all the difference. From packing safe snacks to speaking up in restaurants, Max navigates his family vacation with confidence.
One Amazon reviewer described it perfectly:
  • “Bright, colorful, and empowering—this story reassures kids that allergies are only one part of who they are. They can still live happy, adventurous lives.” – Mary Bosch
This book is an invaluable resource for families, caregivers, and teachers who want to help children feel safe and prepared when leaving home.
